Welcome to 2018...first day back to the grind! The alarm felt a bit harsh this morning but on the whole, it's good to be back!
I've caught up on emails and thought now would be a good time to share the general thoughts that are occupying my brain...
My Christmas was pretty bloomin' lovely. In a nutshell, it included/involved: Santa at Ingleborough Caves, family time, starting - and finishing - a 720 page book, eating too much chocolate log, curry with friends, open fires, TV, playing out in the snow (for the one morning it was around), no work, bed, sleep, sleep, sleep!
Drilling down into the details...If you're on the lookout for a new book, I would highly recommend 'The Heart's Invisible Furies' by John Boyne (author of The Boy in The Striped Pyjamas). It's quite a long one at 720 pages but I flew through it and it never felt like a drag at all. It's funny, emotional, gripping and informative.
I also particularly enjoyed the new 3-part TV adaptation of Louisa May Alcott's 'Little Women' (BBC). It's one of my all-time favourite books, and I'm also a big fan of the 1994 film...so I was sceptical...BUT, it was good! Not quite as good as the film but definitely worth a watch.
But now that Christmas is behind us, it's time to think about the New Year and all that lies ahead!
I'm not big on resolutions but I do enjoy the feeling of renewed energy that the New Year brings. December feels like a wind-down to Christmas but January feels like the time for action and serious business!
I'm looking forward to cracking on with projects that I currently have lined up...and I'm excited about working with new clients this year.
Anyway, enough for now! I hope you all have a fantastic 2018.
